Background and Vision

Founded in South Africa in 1995 Origins Design’s fundamental goal was to design furniture using natural, sustainable or recycled materials. The use of such materials united practical and functional design with the beguiling nature of all things organic.

As Origins Design has developed so has our vision. Origins Design is now based in London, where we design and manufacture much of our furniture. We also source products from around the globe: our art is Australian, our rugs are Peruvian. We stock Parisian lamps and Lithuanian glassware, we buy Dining Room tables designed in Portugal and made in Mexico. We continue to source African products from companies which adhere to our sustainable desires.

Origins Design provides contemporary furniture and plans interior spaces for the discerning developer, the first time buyer, the interior designer and the archetypal passer by. We continue to combine high quality natural materials with innovative sophisticated design, ensuring that at once our products retain character and promote the importance of advancing design.

Our principal philosophy of fusing nature with urban living has never been more relevant. We provide our customers with unique contemporary pieces all of which preserve the spirit of their organic origins.
